Where did October go? Browse new books and find out...

The library has been a busy place through September and October.  We had a fantastic time creating many different dots in celebration of International Dot Day.  I'm still editing the video made from pictures of all our young artists.

We also ordered and received LOTS of new books into Hansen library.  It takes time to figure out which books will be just right choices for our library students.  Once we get the books in we have to program them into the Destiny, our online data base for library materials.  After they are in the system we have to bar code and label, cover and stamp them.  Find all new books on the metal beige cart at the front of the library.

Two word summaries, focus on nonfiction:

Tree of Wonder by Kate Messner:  Rainforest, ecosystem

Don't laugh at me by Steve Seskin (includes CD): bullying, self/esteem

Gravity by Jason Chin: space, illustrations

Redwoods by Jason Chin: biomes, forest

Lightship by Brian Floca: safety, ocean

Ivan, the remarkable true story of the shopping mall gorilla by K. Applegate: caring, animals

A passion for elephants by Toni Buzzeo: scientists, biomes

Sisters and brothers by Steve Jenkins: animal, relationships

T is for time by Marie and Roland Smith: concepts, history

How many ways can you catch a fly? by Steve Jenkins: animals, solutions

These covers look like more fun than your typical nonfiction books!  If your interest is sparked come have a look at our new books in the library.
